Since 2007 I have experience with seal rescue advice. In that period I worked, as a volunteer, for the SRRC (Seal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre) in the Netherlands. Therefore I have experience with different kind of seals like the common seal (Phoca vitulina), the gray seal (Halichoerus grypus), the hooded seal (Cystophora cristata) and the ringed seal (Pusa hispida). My specialism is the Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus). In 2012 I did 3 weeks Mediterranean monk seal observations in a natural reserve in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean (Macaronesia). I worked there because of knowledge exchange and giving presentations about seal rescue and seal behaviour in general. On the other hand I learned a lot about their behaviour and the population of the Mediterranean monk seal from the local guards. These days there are only 900 Mediterranean monk seals left in the world.

Van 2007 tot 2013 heb ik ervaring met zeehonden reddingen en hun rehabilitatie. In die periode werkte ik, als vrijwilliger, bij het SRRC (Seal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre) in Nederland. Daar heb ik kennis opgedaan over diverse zeehondensoorten zoals de gewone zeehond (Phoca vitulina), de grijze zeehond (Halichoerus grypus), de klapmuts (Cystophora cristata), en de ringel rob (Pusa hispida). Vanaf 2012 heb ik mij gespecialiseerd in de Mediterrane monniksrob (Monachus monachus). In 2012 heb ik 3 weken Mediterrane monniksrobben geobserveerd in een natuur reservaat in de Atlantische Oceaan (Macaronesia) en is er internationaal kennis uitgewisseld over deze zeehondensoorten en hun gedrag. Omdat er nog maar 650 Mediterrane monniksrobben zijn is de populatie kwetsbaar.
